For the first plantings there was a good group of students who came out. Frank and Christina Allen donated some seedlings and Mike brought the seedlings from the greenhouse at Chancellor's Point. We were fortunate to have access to a tractor to disc the field but we did not have a roto-tiller to give the soil a finer till. Therefore we had to resort to hoes. There was a lot of hoeing going on the first day of planting.
